Important Days in March 2022- Significance
Zero Discrimination Day- 01st March
It is an annual day celebrated on 1st March every year by the UN and other International Organizations. It aims to promote equality before the law and in practice throughout all of the member countries of the UN. The day was first celebrated on 01st March 2014 and was launched by UNAIDS Executive Director Michel Sidibe. The theme of Zero Discrimination Day for the year 2022 is “Remove laws that harm, create laws that empower”.
World Wildlife Day- 02nd March
UN proclaimed 03rd March as the day of signature of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) in 1973- as UN World Wildlife Day to celebrate and raise awareness of the world’s wild animals and plants. The commemoration was proposed by Thailand to celebrate and raise awareness of the world’s wild fauna and flora. This year World Wildlife Day is celebrated under the theme “Recovering key species for ecosystem restoration”.
National Safety Week- 04th March to 10th March
National Safety Day/Week is celebrated on 04th March every year on a national level all over the country to aware people about safety including the various health and environmental movements. Through this campaign, the need-based activities, self-observance with legal requisites, and professional SHE (safety, health, and environmental) activities are encouraged among staff at the workplace. In order to organize this campaign, a national level, and safe governmental support is given to the members. The theme of the National Safety Day for the year 2022 is “Sadak Suraksha – Jeevan Raksha”.
International Women’s Day- 08th March

Pi Day is the annual day celebration of a mathematical constant Pi. The pi was first calculated by Archimedes of Syracuse, who lived from 287-212 BC. It was founded in 1988 by physicist Larry Shaw. The United States House of Representatives supported the designation of Pi-Day and celebrated the World’s 1st Pi Day on 14th March 2009.
